Adobe Designer and Developer Lounge

a place where designers and developers can get to know one another

I had done a fair bit of action-Scripting but hadn't even heard of classes. Any action-Scripting that was done was in one long file. What fun! So as we were going along in this class I knew it was possible but I couldn't imagine how it was done with reusable script. This tutorial helped give me a clue.

I don't know if it will help anyone else but if it does then great!

I found Lee Brimlow's blog "flash blog" has a nice tutorial section at gotoandlearn.com there's not much AS3, but there is an interesting flash 8 tutorial called "using custom classes"

He also recommends using Sothink's SWF decompiler, not to steal but to look at how people are putting together code. I know this sounds unethical, but I feel that's akin to veiwing source in order to learn. I wouldn't want to use it to copy - that's no fun!

Anyway, he also recommends using Google search on "yourcodesearch:as" and it will link you directly to AS files that have the type of code you're looking for.
